What is Covert
Hypnosis, And how Does It Work?

I
always get a good laugh when I go surfing
around the web and read different people’s definition of
covert hypnosis. Here’s one I’ve found that made me laugh
harder than usual, and to save the web site owner the embarrassment,
he’ll go un-named:
Covert
Hypnosis: “Talking so that another person
can’t hear you”
WOW!
That’s almost an oxymoron. Is it any wonder nobody
has a clear idea about what covert hypnosis
is, and how it works when there's definitions like this
proliferated on the web? And there are hundreds of these
misleading definitions all over! It’s
disgusting.
I
get at least 30 of e-mails every month asking me to explain
what it means, and how it works. So, to answer that question
quickly and easily, and to save me from having to keep replying
to those e-mails (although you are welcome
to e-mail me anytime) there’s a neat
way to look at covert hypnosis that I’m going to share
it with you right now…
Covert
hypnosis: "communicating to another person’s
unconscious mind, without their conscious involvement, analysis
or agreement."
Now,
this can be how you talk to a person, it can be how you
write, it can be manipulating deeply driven human
desires that cause a person to “react”
at the push of a button, or it can be "triggering"
an unconscious association (memory).
You
see, just think about the common computer. There’s
a hard drive (which stores the information) and there’s
the Processor (which accesses and executes this information).
Now,
the hard drive of a computer, does whatever it is
told to do by the Processor OR by the operator
of the computer (you). Likewise, the unconscious mind
will do whatever it is told do by the person’s own
conscious mind, but it will also do what something outside
their conscious awareness instructs it to do.
That
means, if you can properly develop the skill
to communicate to a person’s unconscious mind, it
doesn't debate you, it doesn’t disagree, and the
conscious mind of the person -- isn’t even aware
you’re communicating to their unconscious...
Just like the hard drive of the computer doesn’t know
there’s someone outside the processor making it execute
commands, deliver, and/or retrieve
information.
Stated
in another way -- when you can properly communicate to a
person’s unconscious mind, it just does what
it’s told. It just "acts" without reason
and without any resistance.
So
as you think about that, I bet you're starting to see how
powerful covert hypnosis is, and maybe you can even picture
how you can use your newly developed skill in ways that
delight and surprise you.
